Tulsa, OK – Oral Roberts University is excited to announce its 2019 Media Summit,
hosted May 21-22, 2019 on the Tulsa, Oklahoma campus.
Focused on the media needs of churches and non-profits, the conference will cover
a range of topics these organizations face. Sessions include: audio basics, on-camera
interviewing techniques, social media for the non-profit, managing multi-site churches,
budgeting and volunteer management, and more.
“Whether you are a small church in need of IMAG or a non-profit organization wanting
to expand to TV broadcasting, the 2019 Media Summit at ORU will prepare your technical,
creative, and executive staff for the challenge,” said ORU’s GEB Network General Manager
David Groves.
The two-day conference will feature discussion panels and sessions with the industry's
top thought leaders including ORU President Dr. William M. Wilson, ORU communication
and media faculty, as well as prominent ORU media alumni including Phil Cooke-Cooke
Pictures, Dan Rubottom of Epiphany Creative Group, Clay Jacobsen-director of TV’s
Jeopardy, and Dan Wathen-Cooke Pictures.
“Today, media isn’t something churches and ministries do on the side - it’s the heart
of sharing your message with the world,” said Cooke, Ph.D. a Filmmaker, Media Consultant,
and author of “Unique: Telling Your Story in the Age of Brands and Social Media. “To
be a current pastor or church leader not engaging with media, would be like a pastor
or leader 100 years ago not engaging with books. This isn’t optional, and the 2019
Media Summit at Oral Roberts University will help you expand your reach, grow your
congregation, and make a greater impact in the culture.”
Break-out sessions will be offered for both the church and ministry leader along with
technical A/V and ministry creative teams. Overall, the goal of the event is to enhance
a ministry’s media and production skill-set. Attendees will range from pastors to
media directors.
Early-bird registration is now open and group discounts are available. For more information
