Tulsa, OK – Oral Roberts University is committed to building Holy Spirit-empowered leaders and that includes online and lifelong learners. To help ORU continue its phenomenal growth in this area, ORU President Dr. William M. Wilson announced today Dr. Kim Nugent as the university’s new Associate Vice President of Online and Lifelong Learning.
“We are excited to have a person of Dr. Nugent’s caliber joining ORU’s leadership team,” said Dr. Wilson. “Dr. Nugent has a history of working at academic institutions that have experienced rapid growth so we are confident she will use those same skills to continue growing ORU’s online presence.”
“Dr. Nugent brings a vast amount of experience in instructional design methodologies, multi-mode leadership development, learning theories and teaching techniques,” said ORU Provost Dr. Kathaleen Reid-Martinez. “Her expertise in designing and delivering continuing education programs along with her passion for people will add depth to our program development efforts.”
Dr. Nugent served as Metro President of Devry University in Houston from 2011 to 2016 where she led strategic vision, direction and operations for three campus locations. Prior to her work at Devry, she worked at the Education Management Corporation as Vice President of Faculty Development. She has also served as President of the Art Institute of Houston.
“We are delighted to welcome Dr. Nugent to ORU,” said Dr. Nancy Brainard, ORU Vice President of Enrollment Management. “As the head of our Online Enrollment team, she will bring a valuable perspective to our recruitment activities and help us connect a worldwide audience with the educational opportunities ORU has to offer.”
