ORU Welcomes New Members of Board of Trustees

Tulsa, OK – Oral Roberts University inducted three new trustees and welcomed four others during the Fall 2016 Board of Trustees meeting, November 8-10.

Hugo Chan is a Hong-Kong based lawyer, entrepreneur, lay pastor, media personality and marketplace leader. At his induction, Chan said, “ORU can be a force in driving cultural change in Asia. My desire is to be a part of making that dream a reality.”

LaDonna Osborn is President and CEO of Osborn Ministries International and the founder and Bishop of the International Gospel Fellowship of Churches and Ministries headquartered in Tulsa. She believes ORU is positioned “to make a difference in this technologically advanced world.” She said, “whole person education is needed all over the world and with modern technology it is possible to reach the world.”

Brian Stiller has served as Global Ambassador for the World Evangelical Alliance which serves some 600 million evangelical Christians around the world. Stiller told the board, “the whole person concept is the gospel. I understand the importance of governance. I understand what you do with your lives and I look forward to contributing to this journey with you.”

Gary Brown, Steve Robinson, Dale Bronner, David Daniels and Victor Cárdenas were also elected as new members of the board.

Brown serves as the Chief Executive Officer of CIBC FirstCaribbean.

Robinson is the founder and Senior Pastor of Church of the King, a multi-site church with campuses in both the Greater New Orleans area and the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Bronner is the founder and Senior Pastor of Word of Faith Family Worship Cathedral in Atlanta. He is also part owner of the Bronner Brothers Manufacturing Company.

Daniels is the Henry Winters Luce Professor of World Christianity at McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago. He is also a bishop in the Church of God in Christ.

Cárdenas is co-founder of CanZion Producciones based in Houston, Texas. He is founder and lead vocalist of the Christian rock band “Zona 7” and also founded “Otra Onda Inc.”, a non-profit ministry with the focus of world youth evangelism and education.

Board Chair Robert Hoskins welcomed the new board members who, he said, “will help guide this historic institution into the future.” He told the new members, “Our role is to keep the flame of the vision alive and growing into the future.”
