ORU Students “Treat” the Homeless on Halloween

Fall OutreachThis Halloween hundreds of Oral Roberts University students will “treat” the homeless through their annual fall outreach event. Instead of traditional trick-or-treating for candy, students will go door-to-door collecting canned goods to feed the homeless.

All non-perishable food items will be donated to John 3:16 Mission and will be used to help serve more than 3,000 families during Thanksgiving.

ORU Outreach students have also partnered with World Compassion to aid Iraqi refugees who have had to flee their homes due to the violence caused by the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). Student residence halls are raising money to buy blankets, food and hygiene packs.

The ORU Missions and Outreach Department encourages students to reach out and bring the gospel to hurting people in the Tulsa area. Outreaches range from feeding the homeless, to mentoring children or constructing homes. For more information about the ORU Missions and Outreach department, visit www.oruoutreach.com .
