ORU 15th Annual Cultural Event: A Global Celebration
Oral Roberts University hosted the 15th annual Cultural Event in Zoppelt Auditorium on the ORU campus. The event was designed to empower ORU students, faculty and staff as well as the Tulsa community to celebrate global diversity.
Attendees enjoyed food from around the world, an art exhibit highlighting African-American heritage month, smooth jazz performed by current ORU students and alumni, and dance teams from Africa, Burma and Japan. The event also featured special guest speaker Rev. Timothy Butler who performed a Martin Luther King, Jr. monologue.
“ORU serves students from more than 70 countries around the globe,” said Sherri Tapp, ORU associate professor in the Graduate School of Education. “We look forward to celebrating the diversity and unique culture that has set ORU apart and attracted people from around the world to Tulsa.”
