ONEOK Sports Complex Grand Opening and Dedication

TULSA, Okla. – Oral Roberts University will have a grand opening and dedication ceremony for the new ONEOK Sports Complex on Wednesday, October 4 at 3:30 p.m. The new facility boasts six new tennis courts and the first-ever track and field facility on campus.

The track at the ONEOK Sports Complex is an eight-lane, 400m track with a blue polyurethane running surface. The complex includes two long jump runways, two pole vault runways, and a shot put area. Discus and javelin events will take place on the all-grass infield. Plenty of seating is available around the track, with bleachers to seat 500 spectators. The tennis complex features six courts with seating for 300. A press box is located on the east side of the track and overlooks both the track and tennis courts, with restrooms and a locker room on the first floor.

Among those alumni who are returning for the celebration are track stars Andretti Bain, Jack Whitt and Prince Mumba. Bain and Whitt have combined to win all three of ORU’s NCAA National Championships, while Bain and Mumba have competed for their respective countries on the Olympic stage.

Legendary tennis coach Bernis Duke will also be in attendance. Duke is sixth among NCAA coaches with 563 career wins and boasts a .714 winning percentage during his 33-year career. He is a member of the ITA and ORU Athletic Halls of Fame.
