ORU Receives Innovation Award

Tulsa, OK - Oral Roberts University is excited to be among the winners of this year’s Eduventures 2016 Innovation Awards. ORU’s Chief Information Officer, Michael Mathews, was in Boston to receive the award Oct. 24th.

The Eduventures Innovation Awards program is designed to identify and honor higher education institutions that demonstrate significant innovations when developing programs in various areas including creative use of technology to boost student success.

ORU is preparing to open its new $8.5 million Global Learning Center. This new facility puts the university on the cutting edge of providing an immersive learning experience through smart classrooms, virtual reality, augmented reality, robotics and a state-of-the-art performance studio.

“I’m excited to receive another innovation award on behalf of Oral Roberts University,” said Michael Mathews. “The commitment from ORU’s leaders, the funding provided by them, a trainable culture, and the support of our vendors made this award possible.”
