This certificate prepares teachers to successfully complete the Mild/Moderate Special Education Oklahoma Subject Area Test (OSAT). Requiring only 18 graduate level credit hours, this certificate provides the resources and research-based knowledge you need to successfully teach today’s mild-to-moderate special education students.
You will graduate with the diagnostic methods, intervention strategies, and effective teaching curriculum to reach students and counsel parents. This program is 18 credit hours. You could complete this degree in as little as 12 months when you enroll full-time. We consider full-time enrollment for this program as taking one 3-credit-hour course over a 7-week term, with 6 terms per year.

ORU’s College of Education is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and the Oklahoma Office of Educational Quality (OEQA).
