ORU Enactus Team Wins Regional Competition
Months of hard work and preparation paid off, as Oral Roberts University's Enactus
team won the 2013 Enactus United States Regional Competition in Dallas, Texas.
The regional competition allowed teams to showcase their collective impact and community
outreach efforts. Students presented their projects and were evaluated by alumni and
business leaders serving as judges. The teams were ranked based on how successful
they were at utilizing business concepts to enable progress through entrepreneurial
action.
ORU’s Enactus chapter was heavily involved in the Tulsa community this past year. Throughout 2012-2013 students raised over 50,000 pounds of food for the hungry, taught underprivileged children how to read and initiated the first-ever national conference for young burn survivors between the ages of 15 and 20.
Enactus is an international non-profit organization that brings together student, academic and business leaders committed to using the power of entrepreneurial action to transform lives and shape a better more sustainable world. The organization has a presence in 1600 universities campuses located in 38 countries across the world.
As regional champions, ORU’s Enactus chapter has been invited to compete in the National Exposition, which will take place May 21-23 in Kansas City, Mo.
