Audrey Thompson is in her 19th year at Oral Robert University Anna Vaughn College of Nursing, currently holding the position of Associate Professor.
Audrey holds a PhD in Nursing from Texas Woman's University: a Masters in Nursing degree from Oral Roberts University, specializing in community health nursing and nursing administration. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Oklahoma. Her research interests include adolescent health needs, community development, and leadership issues.
“Initially my career at ORU Anna Vaughn School of Nursing was as a member of the teaching team for the Community Mental Health Nursing and the Leadership in Nursing course” Audrey said. “In 1998 I took on the role of Course Coordinator for both courses and have been responsible for the administrative duties involved in the facilitation of the course for students and other faculty team members. In 2009-2013, I have had the awesome opportunity to be the Project Coordinator of two HRSA Grants awarded to the Anna Vaughn College of Nursing, each of which has focused on the recruitment and retention of nontraditional students and students from under-served rural areas in Northeast Oklahoma.”
Intermittently, Audrey also works as a Consultant for Non-Profit Agencies and special interest groups, assisting with identification of funding sources, grant writing and organizational issues; she also assists with administration of a Youth Ministry in a local church in the Tulsa Community.
