Your next steps are:
  1. Request that your school send your transcripts to Oral Roberts University  by email or mail at 7777 S Lewis Ave, Tulsa, OK 74171.
  2. Watch your email for your admissions decision and additional scholarship information.

Your application and course-by-course evaluation will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee. Automatic scholarship consideration is given upon acceptance to ORU.

International students transferring to ORU from another educational institution (college, university or intensive English institute) in the U.S. who plan to change schools must complete a SEVIS Transfer Request Form after your application for admission. This form will indicate your current visa status and SEVIS transfer date.

It is the student's responsibility to maintain his or her F-1 student status and to complete the instructions below.

  • Once you receive an acceptance letter notify your current university of your intent to transfer.
  • Complete the top portion of the SEVIS Transfer Request Form prior to your acceptance to Oral Roberts University.
  • Have the Designated School Official (international student advisor), at your current institution complete the bottom portion of the Sevis Transfer Request Form.
  • After you and your current school have determined the date to have your SEVIS record electronically released to ORU, promptly return this completed form to Oral Roberts University.
  • After the release date, ORU will produce a Form I-20. Unfortunately, ORU CANNOT produce an ORU Form I-20 until after the release date submitted by your current school.

  • In order to be considered a transfer student, you must have completed 15 or more college credit hours from an accredited post-secondary institution after high school graduation.
  • Your first step is to submit a course-by-course evaluation of your transcripts for all coursework completed after your secondary education. You can use SpanTran to complete that step.
  • Once you have your course-by-course evaluation, you will have a US equivalent GPA. International transfer applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale) or higher to be considered for full admission. If you have attended more than one institution, the GPA received from each individual university will be combined to calculate your cumulative GPA.

Congratulations! We cannot wait to welcome you to ORU. You are almost there!

Your next step is to submit a copy of your passport and your financial guarantee. In this stage, you are also eligible to apply for a Quest Whole Leader Scholarship.

Here is what you need to do:
  • Send a picture of your passport (the page that contains the passport number, your full name, date of birth, etc) to your Admissions Representative.
  • Download and complete the Financial Guarantee form. Before you send it to your Admissions Representative, make sure you have:
    • The signature of the applicant with the understanding of the cost of education.
    • The signature of the guarantor with the understanding of the cost of education.
    • Bank statements of the guarantor no older than six months OR a letter from the bank on bank letterhead with a bank representative’s signature that verifies the financial ability of the guarantor.
    • Note: If the Bank Account holder is a business account, make sure the letter states that the guarantor has unrestricted access to the account.
      • The bank statement needs to show a balance for the total cost of education minus your scholarship offer.

After we receive and approve your financial guarantee, we will send you a document called Form I-20, which you will utilize to schedule your visa appointment in your local consulate.

We are so excited to see you at ORU soon. There are a couple more steps below that you need to review before you are ready to come.

  • Book your appointment and obtain your visa:
Now that you have received your Form I-20, you need to book your interview and pay the SEVIS fee. The school code for SEVIS is DAL214F10247000.
  • Make sure you have your immunization Records:
Prior to your enrollment, you will need to visit your family physician and together complete the Medical Assessment Form.
Submit up to date Immunization Records, including record of required immunizations received within the last 12 months. Click here to view all immunization requirements.
  • Consider Student Insurance:
Student insurance is recommended but not required at ORU. You and your family must decide the best option for you as a student living internationally to cover medical costs if they arise. You can choose a private carrier or consider the student insurance offered at www.isoa.org, www.lewermark.com, or www.internationalstudentinsurance.com. It is reasonably priced and other students have used this before. You can opt to get set up once you are in the US or before you leave.
