Developing Whole Leaders for the whole World

Bachelor of Science in
Health Physical Education

Program Overview

Oral Roberts University’s commitment to the whole-person philosophy is well-represented in the Health, Leisure, and Sports Sciences Department. You will find a dual approach in this major. First you will get the general education program that emphasizes overall healthy living, lifestyle and wellness. Secondly you will get the benefit of our professional education program that provides the foundation for you to eventually work in the health, fitness, recreation or sports management industries, teach physical education or qualify for physical therapy or medical school.

If you choose to major in Health Physical Education, you will be exposed to a variety of subjects and areas of focus that will prepare you to teach or get a job in a number of fields of health and physical education.

Students seeking licensure to teach at the secondary levels have two options: completion of the health and physical education major, which leads to standard certification or completion of any other major in the HPE Department which can lead to alternative certification.
