Oral Roberts University’s Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Social Studies with Professional Education Concentration is offered in cooperation with the ORU College of Education. Your degree leads to standard certification; or completion of any major in the History, Humanities and Government Department which can lead to alternative certification.
Seeing through the eyes of a Christian worldview, you will be exposed to a variety of subject fields that will allow you to teach middle and secondary school classes. Imagine the excitement of instructing your classroom in civics, democracy, economics, government, U.S. history, world history, sociology or Oklahoma history.

What about accreditation?
As a university we meet the highest accreditation standards set by the Higher Learning Commission. The Social Studies Education program meets certification requirements set by the Oklahoma Office of Educational Quality and Accountability.
