Oral Roberts University’s Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in French has many opportunities to influence the French-speaking world for the glory of God. Here at ORU, you are encouraged to go into every person’s world, and we believe one of the greatest influences you carry is your voice. Whatever career you choose to pursue, speaking to someone in his or her heart language will bridge gaps you did not know existed and create community opportunities you would not have had before.

What makes ORU’s French program stand out?

You will learn from our excellent faculty who have advanced degrees in language, education and translation to help guide you into possible career choices. You’ll develop the skills to incorporate French into your everyday life, and in the advanced courses the rich culture and literature of the French come to life!

You will learn the mechanics and grammar in Composition and Phonetics classes with opportunities to use these skills in the community through our internship course. ORU offers study abroad programs in partnership with the International Student Center. Imagine studying in Paris, Pau, Nice,

Aix-en-Provence, Lyon, Strasbourg or other wonderful locations!

Expand your creativity by joining the French Club which enriches appreciation of the cultures of French-speaking countries. Club events offer opportunities to learn about the culture along with practicing the language in exciting and innovative ways.  ORU is also honored to host Pi Delta Phi , the national French Honor Society. The central purpose is to confer distinction upon outstanding students of the French language and literature in undergraduate, graduate and professional studies. With dedication, passion and hard work, you can join them!

Are there scholarships available?
